The Formation of Management Structure in Marine Protected Areas of the Pam Islands

Implemented activities on wednesday ( 4 / 10 / 2017 ) at Post KKP Pam Island in Mioskor, Raja Ampat Regency is one of the solutions to suppress  threats to coastal ecosystems and protect spawning, growing and foraging habitat of fish, so that people around the conservation area get the benefit from it to develop tourism from sustainable marine resources so as to bring economic benefits to communities and local governments

The activities of Formation of Management Structure in Marine Protected Areas of the Pam Islands by Conservation International Indonesia (CI Indonesia) were attended by BLUD UPTD, village’s government, traditional leaders and youth or community groups from the three villages such as Pam, Saukabu, and Saupapir in Pam Islands. The formation of this structure is done by direct election by members of the community who attended the meeting, which started with the proposing name, voting to the vote counting process conducted directly by the community so that has formed the management structure in Marine Protected Areas of the Pam Islands. The formation of Marine Protected Areas of the Pam Islands issuance is carried out by direct election by the community which is the first activities in the Marine Protected Areas.
